​IIA-Azerbaijan is an affiliate of The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA). The IIA is an international professional association with global headquarters in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Generally, members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security.

IIA Azerbaijan Mission The main objective of IIA Azerbaijan is to provide dynamic leadership for the profession of internal auditing in Azerbaijan. Activities in support of this mission will include, but will not be limited to:

To support internal auditors practicing on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as nearby areas.

To improve the professionalism of internal auditors by developing their knowledge, skills and practices.

To become a unified platform for internal auditors by enabling their communication with each other.

Chapter Officers

​Welcome to IIA Azerbaijan Chapter, an International Chapter affiliated with The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA).

Azerbaijan is currently in the new stage of changes, which will lead to improvements in all sectors. With an approved Strategic Road Map on National Economy and Key Sectors of the Economy of Azerbaijan 2016-2025, it is designed to ensure economy’s competitiveness, inclusion and increased social welfare based on sustainable economic development.

One of the key factors for the success of the strategy is considered the implementation and strengthening of modern professional corporate governance principles for large government organizations as well as for business structures.

The establishment of The Local Chapter of Institute of Internal Auditors will support the approved strategic Road Map in terms of development of modern governance structures by stimulating the improvement of the practices of internal auditors located in Azerbaijan. It will also emphasize the importance of the audit activity as a key element of effective governance in maximization of the value created by the all levels of public and private sector.

The Institute of internal Auditors Azerbaijan will enable the integration of the practitioners in unified platform and will contribute to improvement of the knowledge base and professional skills of the practitioners specializing in such areas as internal audit, governance, risk management, internal control and so forth.

Considering wide network of The Institute of Internal Auditors expanded all over the world, we may ensure new members of the institute as well as partnering organizations that they will be able to use and will be supported by the best practices of the internal auditing. Activities in support of mentioned objectives will include, but will not be limited to:

Promoting international practices on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as nearby areas; Providing high quality trainings for Public and Private sector on such topics as internal auditing, governance, risk management, internal control, etc.;

Translating authoritative guidance promulgated by The IIA, governance, risk and internal control frameworks established by influential institutions, as well as other relevant information on internal auditing;

Organizing networking events, workshops to enable experience and knowledge exchange among internal audit practitioners. We hope that our website will provide you with invaluable resources to develop your internal auditing knowledge and skills and networking opportunities to share the experience with your peers and stakeholders.
