I was walking down a hallway at the conference center/hotel where I'm staying when I noticed an open door. It was the entrance to that inner sanctum which allows employees their backstage access to the meeting rooms. On the inside of the door was posted a sign reading "Think Safety First."

A Quick Note About Procrastination

I can't tell you how many times I harangued my kids to get their work done – school work, housework, yard work, whatever work. And it was always "I'll get it done later." And then something would come up – they'd get sick, something else would be due, a friend would have free tickets to Comic Con (no, that never any of us) – something would occur to cause their best laid plans of mice, men, and procrastination to come crashing down.

Art Imitates Audit

Last week I talked about the struggles we all face when confronting a blank sheet of paper; that moment every creator fears (and should embrace) when there is empty space begging for an idea.  This Monday morning (actually starting Sunday night), art imitated life, words imitated reality, and blogging imitated a vast wasteland. There I sat in front of a blank screen with a similarly blank mind in search of an idea.
