Alice in Auditland - The Extended Version

Putting together the humor pieces for the magazine I find that, more often than not, I have many more words than space will allow. This is actually a good thing, as it is infinitely easier to cut an article than to come up with additional good information. Of course, there is probably some question whether I come up with any good material, but that’s an argument for another day.

And so it was that, a couple of months ago I completed my initial version of “Alice in Auditland” for the December issue of Internal Auditor and found the 2,500-word length just slightly surpassed the 1,000-word limit the editors prefer. What you see in the magazine is the result of the required editing. However, those same editors (take a bow Anne, David, Shannon, and Tim) have allowed me the chance to share the entire piece with you. It’s right here on Internal Auditor Online. (Some bad news … you have to be a member to see it. But, why aren’t you a member anyway?)

So, take a look — and I hope you enjoy it.

  1. Thanks.

  1. It's really a wonderful and very useful story, much more than the stuff about the same and old issues...

  1. Been there, done that - glad to be out of the audit hole!
