Please Forgive Me Joyce Kilmer

A small piece of audit poetry to brighten your day

I think that I shall never see
A poem to an auditee

An auditee who, working hard,
Must stop and put himself on guard

Against his deep and darkest fear;
That auditors are lurking near;

An auditee that works all day,
To, at best, get things done halfway;

Upon whose desk the work has lain
That will create for him such pain.

Audits are made by fools like me
But audit plans make auditees.

(You think you can do better?  Prove it.)
