What I've Learned While Being in Internal Audit
Following are a set of truisms I have learned in my 28 years of auditing. I may have mentioned a few in prior posts, but there's nothing wrong with repetition. Rather than try explaining what these mean, I'll let you draw your own conclusions.
Trust everyone; believe the documentation.
Just because you have a problem, it doesn't mean you have to include it in the report.
Tradition!
Sometimes, the best findings come from the stupidest questions.
Whining is not an exit strategy.
You get what you measure.
Good writing is fun, except the writing part.
I'd rather be in trouble for doing it right.
Quit when you no longer want to fly in the window seat.
You can't see a computer screen when you're typing outside.
Stay away from people dumber than you.
Make your resume look better.
Dream as much as you want, but someday you have to deliver on that dream
