Online CIA Exam Registration Now Open!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE CERTIFICATION DEPARTMENT:
If you recently completed an order in CCMS to apply to the program or to register for an exam and received an error message during the submission process, please do not re-enter your credit card information. Instead, allow 24 hours and access your CCMS record again. If your order is in a "pending" status (order status can be found under order history in CCMS), then your card was successfully charged and no further action is necessary. Our team will work to update the order status and ensure that you receive the proper system-generated notifications. If your order is in an "error" status, please re-enter the credit card information as your card was truly declined. If you have any questions regarding this information please submit an incident on your record in CCMS and a member of our staff will gladly assist you.

Applying and Registering through CCMS
Important! Read the notes below before you attempt to login to the CCMS for the first time using the link at the bottom of this page.
All Candidates
- If you are a candidate from a country that administers IIA certifications through a local certification agreement, you cannot use/access the CCMS. Click here for a list of these countries, as well as their contact information.
- Candidates can now sit for the CIA exam in English, Bulgarian, Chinese (unsimplified), Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Turkish. Please check back to this site regularly for available languages. (The CIA exam languages that are currently under production are Indonesian and Thai.) If you are planning to sit for the CIA exam in a language that is not yet available, you may wish to delay your registration until that exam language is available.

- For more information on the phased launch of the specialty exams, please click here.
New Candidates
- It is important that you review the Candidate Handbook before logging in because you will be agreeing to the rules of the program as outlined in this handbook. Once you have reviewed the handbook, use the "First Time Users" button on the CCMS login page to begin your application process.
- IMPORTANT: If you are an IIA member and the CCMS provides you with an IIA candidate ID number that is different from your IIA global membership ID number, please notify us immediately and do not submit any application or registration forms until you are notified that your records have been merged. (Your global membership ID number is the number that you use to access member information on The IIA's Web site: www.theiia.org.) Once you have followed the instructions for activating your account in the CCMS, click on the "New Incident" link in the CCMS and submit an incident requesting that we merge the information on your ID numbers. We will attempt to resolve the problem within 72 business hours. If you submit an application or registration form under a candidate ID number that is not your membership ID number, you will not receive member pricing. Once you accept the non-member price and submit your order, no refunds or credits will be issued, in whole or in part.
Returning Candidates
- Certain program rules have changed and will be applicable to you. (For example, registrations for exams/parts are now valid for 180 days, and all fees are non-refundable.) It is important that you review the Candidate Handbook logging in because you will be agreeing to these rules.
- Please DO NOT use the "First Time Users" button on the CCMS login page or create a new profile - doing so will cause a delay in accessing your current record. In order to keep all of your candidate information on one record and attain appropriate pricing, follow these instructions to login:
- If you are an IIA member or GEAR user and you know the ID and password that you use to login to The IIA's Web site, try using the same ID and password to login to the CCMS.
- If you are an IIA member or GEAR user and you know your ID but not your password, use the password recovery system on The IIA's main Web page by clicking on the "Forgot?" link in the "Log In" section. Once you receive your password, try using the same ID and password to login to the CCMS.
- If you have a current e-mail address on file with The IIA, try using the password recovery system in CCMS by clicking on the "Forgot your password?" link on the main CCMS page. Provide the requested information, and within a few minutes, you should receive an e-mail containing a hyperlink to a page where you can reset your password and/or change your username.
- If none of these automated options work for you, click here to complete a short form, which will allow The IIA's Customer Service Center to locate your record and send you a password recovery e-mail.
- Once you have accessed your record, you may be asked to activate your account in CCMS in order to continue.
