Student Registration Information
Becoming a Certified Internal Auditor^® (CIA^®) will help you in any profession and in any organization concerned with identifying and eliminating risk. Passing the CIA exam and attaining the designation can set you apart from other graduates competing for the same jobs in today's market. Completion of the CIA exam offers students:

An increased understanding of management issues, risks, and remedies.
Personal satisfaction for attaining a recognized measure of competency.
Access to more and higher-paying jobs.

Special Offer
Qualified students may take the CIA examination at a reduced fee: US $30 registration fee and US $35 per exam part. Students may only sit for four exam parts at this special rate (with Professional Recognition Credit for Part IV considered as an exam part). To be eligible for the discounted fee, a candidate must:

Be enrolled as a senior in an undergraduate program or as a graduate student.
Be a full-time student as defined by the institution in which the student is enrolled (a minimum of 12 semester hours or its equivalent for undergraduate students and nine semester hours for graduate students).
Register for and take the CIA exam while enrolled in school.

Students in their senior year of college may sit for the exam before completing their degree and work experience requirements; however, they will not be certified until all requirements are met.

Student Registration Procedure
To qualify for the reduced fee, submit the following information to The Institute of Internal Auditors:

The CIA Application Form (substitute school address for business address). This must be submitted by fax or mail rather than online since it must be accompanied by appropriate documentation.
A completed and signed Full-Time Student Status Form (PDF).
A completed and signed Character Reference (PDF)
Payment for the US $30 registration fee plus exam part fees (US $35 per part)*.
