Message from the Vice President of Professional Certifications

Cyndi Plamondon, CIA

Dear Colleagues,

As always, we have a lot to share with you to bring you up to speed on how your IIA Global Certifications team is supporting you. We are well into the 40th Anniversary celebration for the CIA, and took a moment to celebrate this auspicious occasion at The IIA Midyear Meetings recently held in Orlando.

In October, we were busy launching the core exam for the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA®), and offering assistance to those who registered for the 4-part Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) exam to facilitate conversion to the new three-part format.

There have been additional program enhancements for the CIA designation: modifications to the CIA education requirements, and throughout the last few months, the CIA exam translations have been progressing and will continue through October 2014.

It’s that time of year to remind everyone that maintaining your designations is just as important as earning them. Certified individuals are advised to review the requirements of designations held while there is still time to earn necessary credits and meet the 31 December CPE reporting deadline.

And if you or someone you know has earned the CIA or CRMA designation this year, why not reward the accomplishment with one of the unique and useful items offered in The IIA’s eStore? Gift certificates are now available in time for year-end recognition ceremonies.

The IIA’s Global Certifications team wishes everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year! It is our pleasure to serve your professional development needs.
