Celebrating CIA®, Then and Now
Thirty-five years ago, a young staff auditor sat for the very first CIA® exam offered in multiple test sites across the United States. That young auditor was none other than Denny Beran, now chief audit executive of JCPenney Co. and senior vice chairman of The IIA's Board of Directors. In the coming months, the designation will celebrate a major milestone, the awarding of its 100,000th CIA.
Certification Experience Enhanced
The IIA recently upgraded its Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS), the Web-based system used to track certification candidates' progress as they complete the steps needed to become certified and to maintain use of certifications already earned.

CPE Reporting Changes on the Horizon
As of January 2011, IIA-certified candidates seeking to report their continuing professional education (CPE) credits will be able to do so in the Certification Candidate Management System (CCMS), rather than on The IIA's website.
