IIA’s Certification in Risk Management Assurance™ (CRMA™) Off to a Running Start
The Certification in Risk Management Assurance™ (CRMA™), launched in October 2011, boasts over 1,000 applicants for certification through this process and has awarded 279 CRMAs as of Dec. 4, 2011. Candidates for the CRMA may submit proof of experience, related certification, and education in order to receive the professional designation now, in lieu of taking the certification exam that will be offered starting in June 2013. 

Enhanced Examination Process for IIA Certification Beginning in 2012
As part of continuing efforts to streamline the certification process worldwide, upcoming enhancements will reduce test time and increase pretest familiarity with the exam.

Looking Ahead: Changes to the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) Program in 2013 
In response to findings from a Job Analysis Study (JAS) for the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) program conducted in 2011, The IIA is implementing two revisions to the CIA exam that will reformat the exam from four sections to three sections.  

IIA Expands Language Offerings for Certification Exams 
The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has expanded delivery for its flagship exam, the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®), and translated one of its specialty exams, the Certified Government Auditing Professional® (CGAP®).   

The IIA Launches Survey to Identify Global Certification Needs 
As part of ongoing efforts to identify programs or services that will provide internal auditors with the opportunity to demonstrate growth during their career progression and represent the value internal audit professionals bring to the organizations that engage them, The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) has developed a brief (10-minute) survey to solicit insight from both internal audit professionals and key stakeholders. The survey is available through Dec. 21, 2011.
