Message from the Vice President of Professional CertificationsDear Colleagues, As vice president of professional certifications for The IIA, I am pleased to share some exciting announcements regarding the recent release of the job analysis survey for the Certification in Risk Management Assurance™, candidate transition plan and exam content map related to the 2013 Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) program changes, and updates regarding our current efforts to enhance exam processes for candidates throughout the world. In addition, I would like to introduce you to Mike Fucilli, CIA, CGAP, CRMA, CFE, CGFM, in this issue’s “CRMA Spotlight.” Explore the reasons why he opted to become a CRMA® and his views regarding the value it adds for the profession. This issue also provides an update on the professional experience recognition (PER) process for the CRMA®. Since its launch, the CRMA has been met with enthusiasm with over 1,000 candidates certified and a thousand in the process to obtain certification. And don’t forget to read about the Continuing Professional Education (CPE) reporting process changes in effect this year. As you will see in this issue, 2012 is off to an exhilarating start for our Certifications team. In fact, due to the continued growth of the internal audit profession globally and demand for credentialed practitioners, The IIA now offers certification exams in Arabic. Currently, more than seven percent of The IIA’s established institutes around the world speak Arabic as their primary or secondary language. We look forward to an action-packed year and the continued growth of the profession, enhancing professionalism by certifying one auditor at a time. Cyndi Plamondon, CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CGAP, CRMA |
