Dear Colleagues,

The time has come yet again to inform you of the latest Certifications news. As another quarter passes by, we are happy to report more beneficial and exciting announcements that will lead us into the new year. 

In this fourth quarter issue of Certification Corner, we invite you to get to know a fellow member Steve Goepfert, CIA, in “CIA Spotlight” and one of the inaugural inductees into The IIA’s American Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners. Learn Steve’s reasons for adding this key certification to his curriculum vitae. 

Also, stay current on the latest Certification in Risk Management Assurance^TM (CRMA®) updates, the current count of certifications conferred and how many more are in the application process, and who became the 5,000th certified CRMA. 

In addition, explore the reasons two fellow members opted to become exam question writers and their views regarding the value it adds to the profession.  

This issue also provides information on the upcoming 2013 CIA Exam Transition and the Transition Planning Tool that will help guide you in attaining your CIA. And finally read about the important details on reporting your CPE credits earned due by December 31.
