EXAM QUESTION WRITERS
Ever wonder who wrote the questions you answered when you sat for your certification exam? The answer is, someone just like you. The IIA welcomes and encourages its certified members to try their hand at the rewarding experience of crafting original, challenging questions for use in future exams.
Right now, question writers are being sought for both the CIA and CRMA exams. Most members have never participated in this process before, but there’s no reason not to. In fact, there are good reasons to consider it:
Participating in the process is fulfilling and rewarding. You demonstrate your leadership in the profession. You give back to the internal audit community. You join an elite group of others who have contributed questions. And finally, you help The IIA ensure the rigor and integrity of its exams and by extension, future practitioners.
Getting started is simple, and The IIA has resources for you to begin this new challenge. Visit this website for initial information, watch “Where Do Exam Questions Come From?” on AuditChannel.tv, and this short video about the Test Development Team approach used by The IIA’s Omaha Chapter. There are even social media-based “support groups” to tap into. You can also email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Your expertise and experience put you in a unique position to literally help test the mettle of future certification hopefuls.
