Message from the Vice President of Professional Certifications

Dear Colleagues,

Yet again, we find ourselves closing out another very busy quarter in IIA Global Certifications. We not only kicked off the 40th Anniversary celebration for the CIA, we launched the introductory offering of the core exam for the Certification in Risk Management Assurance™ (CRMA®), and began offering the Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) exam in the new three-part format.

Earning an IIA designation represents your hard work, dedication, knowledge, and ability, setting you apart from your peers, and that is why recognizing those who achieve outstanding results on the CIA and specialty exams is very exciting for us. The 2012 certification award winners were announced at the 2013 International Conference with two recipients in attendance to receive theirs:  Juan Carlos Diaz, CIA, of Spain and Wang Yang, CIA, of China.

As we begin to round out 2013, I want to remind everyone that maintaining your designations is just as important as earning them. For those of you who are certified, check your requirements and be sure you are ready to report your completed continuing education activities by the 31 December reporting deadline. If you have not yet completed your certification program, I want to encourage you to continue down your path. It is not too late to end your year by accomplishing the goal of becoming IIA certified, grabbing the keys to unlock the door to new professional opportunities.

Sincerely,

Cyndi Plamondon, CIA, CCSA, CFSA, CGAP, CRMA
