Additional Information The IIA Technology-related Audit Guidance Update, November 2008 Recent survey shows the GTAG series is a valuable tool underutilized by non-ITauditors: [] “…great overview for newer staff inexperienced to IT Controls and Concepts.” [] “As an Audit Manager, I have used a number of GTAG articles to work closely with the IT auditors in developing their risk assessments and audit plans.” [] “[The GTAG series] gives a very useful overview of IT risks/audit for non-IS auditors. Furthermore, the example and programs are extremely useful as starting point to develop customized audit programs...” These are just a few of the comments received in response to the recently completed GTAG survey. However, 39% of survey respondents reported that they had never heard of GTAG before, making the GTAG series a treasure hidden from too many of our members! Don’t let the “technology” in Global Technology Audit Guide mislead you – although GTAGs have enough depth and detail to be valued and used by IT auditors, they are written in straightforward business language for those who don’t specialize in IT. Many chapters have given presentations at luncheons on specific GTAGs or an overview of the series, usually with local members who are GTAG champions. If you are interested in adding a presentation to one of your local events, please contact me and I will be able to assist you. Additionally, you can go to any of the GTAG pages on the IIA Web site to download a GTAG or GTAG powerpoint presentation: http://www.theiia.org/guidance/technology/gtag Questions or feedback regarding technology-related audit guidance?
