Welcome to the San Gabriel Valley Chapter!
The San Gabriel Valley Chapter membership includes internal auditors and management from a variety of industries and organizations, including healthcare, finance, utilities and education. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the Internal Auditing profession.We encourage everyone to achieve Certified Internal Auditor status. The chapter serves our members in internal auditing, governance, and internal control, IT audit, education, and security. Our goal is to provide a balanced program of continuing education and opportunities to meet fellow professionals.

Speaker: Frederick R. Nandy
Director of Operational Audits & Consulting Services
Southern California Edison Company
Mr. Nandy has over 30 years of professional experience in the areas of internal audit, research and development, California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) ratemaking, nuclear power plant construction and licensing, and project management.
He currently manages the Operational Audits and Consulting Division at Southern California Edison Company, reports directly to the Vice President and General Auditor and is responsible for directing, planning and overseeing the performance of operational audit activities, investigations and providing management consulting services for Edison International and its affiliates. He is also responsible for risk assessment, oversight and monitoring of business activities to assess operational effectiveness and compliance with a broad range of regulatory requirements.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEER SPEAKERS TO THE 2010 IIA WESTERN REGIONAL REGIONAL CONFERENCE
All seven District 4 IIA chapters (Beach Cities, Inland Empire, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Fernando Valley, and San Gabriel Valley) are hosting the 2010 IIA Western Regional Conference which will be held from September 19-22, 2010. September 19th would be pre-conference sessions. The objective for this conference is to provide quality training on emerging issues and core skills at a reasonable price.
The 2010 IIA Western Regional Conference Committee is looking for Chief Audit Executives, Chief Risk, Ethics and Compliance Officers, Audit Directors, and Managers to discuss critical issues related to governance, risk and controls, emerging issues, fraud, audit tools and techniques, technology, and topics that concern Chief Audit Executives. Do you have a proven track record as a speaker? Would you like to share one of your department's best practices or discuss a critical issue?
All speakers receive a complimentary registration for the conference, which includes Continuing Professional Education credits for each session that you attend including your presentation; as well as exposure in the conference materials and conference Web site.
The conference will be set up to run as six concurrent 1 1/4 hour program tracks:
- Governance, Risk and Controls
- Emerging Issues
- Government
- Fraud
- CIA Review Courses

In addition, to the 6 tracks, there are two horizontal tracks, Tools and Techniques and Information Technology. These are sessions appropriate to the subject matter of one of the six tracks with a focus on the horizontal track’s subject. Submit your session proposal for one of six planned tracks to date, and if applicable identify if it would be listed as either a Tools and Techniques or an Information Technology subset. If you are interested in participating please fill out the enclosed application by June 15, 2009 and email it to speakers@2010wrc.com
