Date:  February 27th & 28th, 2012

Topic:  Control Self-assessment: Facilitation Skills

Presenter:  Barbara Jackson Williams, CPA, CCSA

Overview:  It’s one thing to have a firm understanding of the Control Self-Assessment (CSA); it’s another to become a successful facilitator of a CSA workshop. Yet conducting these workshops is an important part of the process. In this dynamic seminar, participants will join fellow auditors and CCSA candidates in presentations and practice CSA workshop facilitation techniques, as well as group discussions, case studies, practical exercises, self-assessments, and individual coaching and feedback sessions. Through these highly interactive sessions, you will gain an understanding of the important role workshops play in the CSA process, grasp the power of the group decision process, and learn how to evaluate, review, and report results.

Help us earn GOLD status this year!!!

The chapter needs your help in obtaining points to earn GOLD status this year.  One of the ways the chapter earns points in the Chapter Achievement Program (CAP) is by members performing service to the profession.   In the past year have you:

  • Have you published or submitted any articles to the IIA magazine?
  • Have you published any audit related articles with other professional publications?
  • Do you have any speaking/training engagements where participants earned CPE?
  • Have you participated on an IIA-sponsored Quality Review Team?
  • Have you participated in any Junior Achievement program or event?

If you answered yes to any of these questions or need clarification, please email us (Migliaccio2005@gmail.com or wynnepatrick@gmail.com) with the details.

Get Involved!

Fellow NOVA IIA Chapter Members,

Getting involved in the NOVA IIA chapter can lead to wonderful opportunities and rewarding experiences.  Volunteering is a great way to meet knowledgeable professionals, contribute to the internal auditing profession, network, develop leadership skills, share ideas, and receive exposure to professional issues.  Please click here to learn more about the various Chapter positions. The chapter is always actively seeking volunteers throughout the chapter year, so please take a moment to review the various roles, responsibilities, and descriptions to decide if this is an opportunity that you would like to make a commitment with.  If now is not the right time for you to volunteer, please stay involved with the chapter by making a commitment to attend our monthly meetings and/or our training seminars during the year.

Thanks, and we look forward to working together in the coming Chapter year!
