IIA Chicago-West Chapter Incoming Presidents Letter

Dear Colleagues,

The IIA Chicago-West Chapter welcomes you to this Web site. As the incoming president, I would like to express my excitement for the future of this chapter and hope to build upon the momentum established by the 2008-2009 board and chapter members. Thanks to the guidance of our board and hard work of all chapter members, we achieved the GOLD Level in the chapter achievement program.

As we go into 2009-2010, our goal will be to continue to provide relevant educational seminars that promote awareness of the current best practices of our profession and opportunities to network with other business professionals.

In order to ensure that our seminars are relevant and that they will meet the needs of our chapter community, we intend to strengthen our relationships with Chief Audit Executives, the academic community and other chapters in our region.� We have developed plans and established committees, chaired by highly professional chapter members, to pursue these goals.

It is a distinct honor and pleasure to begin my term as president working with an Executive Board, composed of established professionals in our field.

Performed Any Speaking Engagements Recently?

The Chapter Achievement P rogram (CAP) rewards chapters for the various functions they perform and the service they provide to members and non-members. In order to stay up to date, we need to know when our members participate in either of the following activities:

• Speaking on an internal audit topic at a meeting, seminar, or CPE class. Includes providing training in your company.
  
• Submitting an article to a trade publication such as The Internal Auditor, CAE Bulletin, IIA Educator, and other specialty.
