The IIA Baltimore Chapter now offers scholarships for all interested accounting undergraduate and graduate students:

Scholarship Award Winners -- 2009

We are pleased to announce the winners for the Baltimore Chapter IIA Scholarship Awards for 2009.  Three outstanding students were selected by the Academic Relations Committee and each have received a $2,000 award in September 2009.  The winners are:

Ted Keys Undergraduate Scholarship (2 awards)

> Natalia Bejenari - University of Maryland, College Park

> Geoffrey Treat - University of Maryland, College Park

Bill Bishop Graduate Scholarship (1 award)

> Martin Guozden - University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business

We are now starting to take applications for both IIA scholarships for the 2010 awards.  All applications must be received no later than March 31, 2010.

 

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to the promotion and development of the practice of internal auditing in the State of Maryland.

Goals 

  1. We will provide continuing education opportunities that help our members and our community in adapting to a changing environment.                                    
  2.  We will assist in the professional development of our members by providing networking opportunities, communicating with our members, and encouraging members to attain IIA endorsed certifications.                                      
  3. We will promote an awareness of internal auditing as an ethical and valuable profession.

We’re always calculating our Chapter Achievement Program points and we need to know when our members participate in either of the following activities: 
(1)  Speaking on an internal audit topic at a meeting, seminar, or CPE class.
(2)  Submitting an article to a trade publication such as The Internal Auditor, CAE Bulletin, IIA Educator, and other 
specialty newsletters.
