AuditChannel.tv

In keeping with its motto of "Progress Through Sharing," in November 2011, The IIA launched a new video-sharing site, AuditChannel.tv, that addresses the specific needs of internal auditors and the business community. With "video channels" focused on areas such as fraud, governance, risk, technology, operations, finance, compliance, and more, AuditChannel.tv enables internal audit professionals worldwide to search for and post videos that address the topics of greatest interest to the profession.

The site also allows registered users to rate and comment on the video content. Best of all, with most shared videos under five minutes in length, AuditChannel.tv enables users to drill down to the essence of a topic in a timely fashion and in their own language. Currently, the site has videos in English, Spanish, and French.

The IIA envisions AuditChannel.tv to be community-driven, with users providing the majority of the content and guiding its evolution. As host of the platform, The IIA will provide content generated from our key activities and share the latest information and breaking news available on the profession.

IIA members and other business professionals can register at http://www.AuditChannel.tv or http://www.AuditChannel.tv/mobile (for mobile devices) to become users of the site, enabling them to view, rate, and comment on the site's current content — and add their own.

IIA Bridge Membership Program for Unemployed Members

In today’s downturn economy, it is critical to stay ahead of the competition and stay current in your career. Your IIA membership affords you that opportunity. IIA members who are unemployed due to the current economic environment and are actively seeking employment may apply to The IIA Bridge Membership Program.

Program components:

• One-time, one-year complimentary individual membership
• Online access only to Internal Auditor Magazine

To qualify for Bridge Membership, you must be an active member of The IIA for the past two or more years and actively seeking employment. To take advantage of this opportunity, you will need to download the application form and submit a written request certifying you are unemployed and meet the qualifications of the program.  All documents should be sent to: membershipdevelopment@theiia.org and include your current IIA member number.

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Volunteer Program

Get Involved! Have you thought about taking your involvement with The IIA to a new level? The Institute has many opportunities for internal auditors to participate beyond the membership level.

• Give the gift of time-volunteer your audit services to many non-profit/not for profit organizations.
• Help guide the future -  create guidelines for practitioners, serve on an international committee, or guide the next generation of auditors through the Internal Auditing Education Partnership Program.
• Write exam questions for one of The IIA's four exams. You can earn CPE credit hours at the same time.
• Become an instructor at a seminar.
• Develop research topics and reports for The IIA Research foundation.
• Write an article for the Internal Auditor magazine.
• Participate at local level as a leader or speaker.

The IIA has partnered with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to offer The IIA’s CIA Learning System review course. This program combines the leadership of an experienced instructor with the print and Web-based materials of The IIA’s CIA Learning System to expand your internal audit knowledge and skills and prepare you for the Certified Internal Auditor^® (CIA^®) exam.
