President's Messages
I hope everyone had a great start to 2008.  The chapter year is half way over, but the first half of the year was quite exciting.  In November, we made a bid for the 2012 IIA International Conference.  Although we found out in December that our chapter was not selected to host the 2012 IIA International Conference, we are very honored to have been asked to bid.  The Boston chapter will be hosting this conference and we wish them the best of luck!  In November, we hosted the CIA exam and found out recently that there are three new CIAs among us.  Congratulations!  Certificates will be presented at the May chapter meeting.

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is a national professional organization dedicated to promoting internal auditing.  Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve an organization's operations.  It helps an organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.  Internal auditing as a career offers job opportunities, attractive salaries, challenge, prestige, and professional certification as a Certified Internal Auditor.

The IIA New Orleans Chapter is located in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Our Chapter supports the internal auditing profession in the New Orleans area by sponsoring lunch meetings, seminars, and promoting internal audit professional development via wide ranges of opportunity for those interested in internal auditing to participate in various professional activities. Our chapter has monthly meetings from September through May.

We are committed to adding value to our members and the internal audit profession.  Our Web site is open to all members and non-members.  Please explore our site for more information about the IIA New Orleans Chapter.  Our Web site provides detail information on governors, officers and committee members as well as upcoming events sponsored by our Chapter and other professional organization.

As  an affiliate of The Institute of Internal Auditors, the New Orleans Chapter would like to assure its members and non-members that we value your privacy. In conjunction with the IIA Privacy Policy, it was also important to communicate to you concerning what a member has access to on the New Orleans Chapter website 

Newsletters and Periodic Email Communications.   We ensure all receivers are "blind copied" so information is not transferred via emails. This prevents others from "replying" and sending unauthorized emails to those on our distribution list.

The email messages are part of regular communications with members and nonmembers of the Institute of Internal Auditors New Orleans Chapter. However, since the New Orleans Chapter uses email as a primary means of communication with members and nonmembers, you may not receive important announcements relating to the Chapter.
