Spring Conference 2008
Thank you to our

“The Philadelphia Chapter of the IIA is now NASBA Accredited
The Philadelphia Chapter of the IIA is pleased to announce that our application to NASBA has been approved retroactive to January 1, 2008. This represents a major step forward in the ability of our chapter to service our CPA members who are certified in other states, as well as Pennsylvania. Previously, we were accredited solely by the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy which benefited our PA CPA members only. This is part of our continuing to improve service to our profession. As always, our courses also satisfy the continuing education requirements for all certifications sponsored by the IIA, specifically, the CIA, CFSA, CGAP and CCSA certifications.

IPPF Update

At the Midyear Meetings, the Internal Audit Standards Board (IASB) approved the IPPF Standards for public exposure. Beginning in January of 2008, the drafts will be exposed for 90 days. They will be available in The IIA’s three core languages — English, Spanish, and French. In addition, various institutes are facilitating translation to several other languages.
At the end of the exposure period, the comments and suggestions received will be considered by the IASB and disposition of comments will be made available upon request. If the IASB views the changes made to be substantive as to require re-exposure, the revised documents will be reissued for further comment. The Ethics Committee will be included in the review process to ensure the Standards are consistent with the Code of Ethics.
Please take a few moments to review the exposure draft, and provide comments regarding its relevance and appropriateness to guidance@theiia.org. Also, please review the IPPF Update that is available on The IIA’s home page at www.theiia.org.
