Payment may be made by check or money order. Registration will be closed November 5th, 2008. The objective of this interactive program is to give the auditing practitioner audience a better understanding of the new and comprehensive fraud guidance the IIA implemented at the July 2008 International Conference in San Francisco. This seminar is based on the new IIA guidelines, and contains proven ideas on implementing fraud risk management in organizations of all sizes and industries. The program was created specifically for presentation at Institute of Internal Auditors Chapter seminars. This Guide was jointly sponsored by the IIA, The American Institute of CPAs, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and it combines best practices for managing fraud risks from all three professional associations. You’ll learn how to assess and enhance internal controls, identify, and assess areas of exposure to business risk, wrongdoing, and fraud, and how to create a comprehensive anti-fraud environment. John also examines how to test the effectiveness of fraud prevention and how to link fraud exposures and risks to the actual audit program. The full-day ethics and fraud workshops also include a talk and discussion on how to detect wrongdoing and handle fraud incidents in today’s workplace. Who Should Attend? Anyone working in the auditing or accounting sector including management. Why You Should Attend? The end objective of this workshop is to give the participants a deeper understanding of the new and comprehensive fraud guidance the IIA implemented at the July 2008 International Conference. The goals are to be able to assess the quality and effectiveness of the Fraud Risk Governance in your company, test the effectiveness of fraud prevention and deterrence controls, and how to improve your existing fraud prevention program or implement one if a program does not exist. What we’ll cover? The program is composed of five 60 to 90- minute segments (each of which can be covered separately in session of less than one full day) that track with the five Principles that are the foundation of the Guide.
