Lunch Event:

Internal audit, fraud and continuous compliance management -The landscape for internal audit continues to evolve. Capital market reform and rising stakeholder expectations of internal audit have put its role and performance firmly under a microscope. As a result, internal audit is challenged to deliver on multiple, and often different, stakeholder expectations while always providing value to the organization. During this session, Deloitte will explore recent internal audit trends, including fraud risk assessment and continuous controls monitoring. We will explore leading practices and provide Deloitte's perspective while soliciting input and views from attending participants.

About the Speaker:

Dailene Kells, CGA CIA CGAP is a senior manager with Deloitte's Enterprise Risk Services practice in Regina. She leads the Internal Audit practice in Saskatchewan and focuses on delivering internal audit, control assurance, and enterprise wide risk management solutions to clients. Dailene has more than 17 years of senior accounting and internal audit experience. Dailene is well versed in the IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and is certified with the IIA to perform quality assurance reviews (QAR). Her passion for internal auditing is best displayed through the many staff she has trained to become internal auditors and the fact that she has been instrumental in assisting in the development of Deloitte Canada's internal audit training and career path assessment. Dailene's clients cross a wide variety of industries including government, mining, oil and gas, consumer products, transportation, and telecommunications.

While she has performed QARs on internal audit functions, has helped organizations establish their internal audit departments from scratch, and has assisted clients in transitioning to become a leading internal audit function, she has been volunteering with the IIA since 2001. Dailene is the VP of Membership of the Saskatchewan IIA Chapter and is also the Certification Chairperson. She is a Board of Governor on the IIA's International Membership Committee and is the Chairperson for the CGA Saskatchewan Professional Experience Assessment Questionnaire committee.
