Auditors:  Are You Projecting the Right Image?

Our image is the way we communicate in business.  This includes dressing appropriately for the audience and for the occasion.  Our jobs as auditors take us to the inventory floors of company warehouses, to foreign offices around the world, and to board rooms at company headquarters.  We meet with line managers, executives, external auditors and regulators.  In all we do, we need to look approachable, competent, credible and self-confident.  

Clothing and image should be used as another business tool. This is nonnegotiable. In the first few minutes of meeting, people make assumptions about us, based on the way we look, act and even the tone of our voices. 

Learn how to complete the total image in the many roles we play.  Presentation skills, so important to internal auditors include projecting the correct image, and Gwen Mazer is an expert.  Ms. Mazer will give us real examples of wardrobe do’s and don’ts and how these decisions impact how others perceive us, and, to a great extent our ability to succeed.

Gwen Mazer is the president of Total Image Management, a company that provides seminars, personal image consultations, wardrobe and personal style services. With over twenty five years of professional experience in fashion, style, advertising and image development she has a wealth of knowledge that helps her diverse corporate and private clients achieve their goals.

Some of her clients have included; Wells Fargo Bank, the Port of Oakland, United States Forest Service, Kaiser Permanente, Campton Place Hotel, Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Harpo Productions and television personality Oprah Winfrey.

Private clients include; attorneys, business executives, philanthropists, educators, psychologists, film producers and writers.

She is a certified image and wardrobe consultant, served as chapter president of AICI, the professional image organization and was awarded the industry’s highest honor. Ms Mazer was a fashion editor for Harper’s Bazaar, Creative Director for Esprit, a professor at the Academy of Art University and the owner of boutiques in New York and San Francisco.
