“Impact/Involvement/Inspiration” these words describe how we as women would like to see ourselves.  We would like to make an impact at the office, we would like to have full involvement in philanthropic events/movements, and we would like to be an inspiration to our children, co-workers but more important an inspiration to ourselves.

Please join us for our first full day event for women (and men, if you care to join us, please do) sponsored by the Women’s Initiative Forum.  This day will be nothing less than amazing.  Our subjects include “State of Women in the Workforce”, “Life Balance”, “Personal Branding”, “Opportunities in the Boardroom/Breaking the Glass Ceiling” and we will have a panel discussion entitled “Leadership in Philanthropy”.   We will also be presenting the first Inspirational Woman of the Year Award.   We hope you can join us.

Our Sessions will include:

Stacia Edwards, Deputy Chancellor for Economic Advancement.  Stacia will discuss where are in the workplace, how far we have advanced as women…how to go even further, and how as women are each other’s best support.

Rebecca Roussell, Nielson.  Rebecca will address the power of women in the marketplace.  She will address our consumer spending and decision making power.

Carol Wagner, Dimension of Health.  Carol will address some of our life balance issues, common issues women face.  Provide possible solutions that may surprise you – how just a few changes can have a wonderful impact on your life.

Cheryle Jackson, AAR Corp.  Cheryle will talk on why it is important to create a digital presence and personal brand.  The importance of branding by promoting your own skillset, interest and experiences and suggestions of how to accomplish this personal branding.

Maria Wynne, Chief Executive Officer Girl Scouts of Chicago and Northwest Indiana.  Maria will bring us to the Boardroom.  How to leverage your experience to obtain a Boardroom position and possibly how to position yourself to obtain these “glass ceiling” opportunities.

Panel Discussion – Leadership in Philanthropy.  The strength of women in philanthropic roles, developing leadership experience through philanthropic participation and the importance of women participating in this world for a successful life balance.

Kathleen Ralston, United Way (Moderator)

Sheri Meyer, Luther North College Prep (Panelist)

Shelley Davis, Women’s Initiative for Self Employment (Panelist)

Pat Pulido Sanchez, Pulido Sanchez Communications (Panelist)

Mary Barton, Heartland Alliance (Panelist)

We also have the privilege of honoring two amazing women during our awards lunch.  We will be presenting our Inspirational Woman of the Year award to Peg Koenigs, Senior Vice President and General Auditor Federal Reserve Bank Chicago and our Lifetime Achievement award to Betty McPhilimy, Associate Vice President Office for Audit and Advisory Services Northwestern University.  So if you cannot make the entire day, please do join us in honoring these two amazing women at our awards luncheon.
