Register Now!!Did you know that while compensation is still the top consideration when taking a job, the main reason for leaving a job is a limited career path?  How to recruit and retain top audit talent is an important question for many audit shops.  But auditors at all levels may not know where a career in audit can take them.  This session will appeal to those concerned about building audit skills and resources within their departments, as well as staff auditors interested in their career options in audit.  Topics will include:

  • Career paths and opportunities for auditors
  • Hiring and retaining audit talent in Winnipeg
  • What has / has not worked in hiring and retaining audit resources
  • Attracting candidates to the Audit profession
  • Other resource options – Co-sourcing and contractors
  • Hiring University grads/working with “Generation Y”

In this session, the panelists will share their experiences relating to building and retaining internal audit skills and resources in the Winnipeg market.  Susan Nemec, Vice-President Business Development at CXA Recruiting, will provide insights and information from a professional recruiting firm specializing in placing audit and accounting resources.  Mary Ann Mork, Director Audit Services at the University of Manitoba and Brian Whiteside, Deputy City Auditor, City of Winnipeg will discuss recent initiatives in their own departments.
