Top Five IT Auditing Tips

 In this session Jack Champlain will present his current top five IT auditing tips that all auditors should know in order to enhance their effectiveness. Leveraging his 19 years of IT auditing experience, Jack will present common sense themes and live demonstrations to convey the concepts.

About the Presenter

JACK CHAMPLAIN is the Senior IT Audit Manager at Russell Investments. He joined Russell in 2006, having previously worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. Jack spent over 13 years as the IT Audit Manager at BECU, and a combined 12 years with Security Pacific and First Interstate Banks prior to joining BECU. He has 22 years of internal auditing experience, including 19 years in IT audit. He is a published author and frequent speaker and consultant in the area of IT auditing.

Jack is a licensed CPA in Washington, and holds the CISA, CISSP, CIA, and CFSA certifications. He earned an MBA from Seattle University and a BA in Finance from the University of Washington.

Jack has been the Chair of the Academic Relations Committees for the Puget Sound Chapters of both the IIA and ISACA since 2000. He has held numerous other Board positions with the ISACA Chapter, including two terms as President from 1995-1997. Jack is an Emeritus Board member of the Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors (ACUIA), having served for six years in various positions on the ACUIA Board from 2000-2005, including Chairman in 2004. In addition to the IIA and ISACA, Jack is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants (WSCPA), and the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).

Luncheon Meeting Registration

The meeting will be conducted at Maggiano’s, located in Lincoln Square in downtown Bellevue at 10455 NE 8th St.  Lunch will be provided buffet style.  The fee for the luncheon is $35 for members of the IIA, $40 for non-members (one CPE credit is awarded). A $5 walk-in fee will apply to all attendees who do not pre-register.The online fee for the Luncheon Presentation is $35 for members of The IIA, $40 for non-members. A $5 surcharge will be added to walkups on the event day. (one CPE is awarded).  This year, the menu will be buffet style.  The buffett accomodates vegans and vegetarians. Our online registration and payment processing allows you to register multiple people for both the lunch and the tech session and pay for everyone with one credit card transaction.   Just select the event for which you are registering, indicate the number of people attending (differentiating by member and nonmember), and our shopping cart will calculate your total fee.  When you check out, you will enter your credit card information.  On this same screen, you must complete the box that asks for member(s) name and event under “additional information required for processing” even though it says optional.
