US Secret Service presents on Top Security Threats

July 22, 3:00 to 5:00 PM – South-End Event in Tacoma

Come to the Puget Sound IIA South-End Summer Meeting and hear the US Secret Service speak on electronic crimes and security threats.  This presentation will address the Electronic Crimes Task Forces and current schemes and scenarios they are investigating.  Don’t miss your opportunity to ask the Secret Service questions on how to combat the proliferation of these crimes.

About the Electronic Crimes Task Forces (ECTFs):

Under the USA Patriot Act the Secret Service was mandated to establish a nationwide network of ECTFs, These ECTFs work with law enforcement, prosecutors, private industry and academia to prevent, detect, mitigate, and aggressively investigate attacks on the nation’s financial and critical infrastructures. 

ECTFs work on cases that involve electronic crimes including support and resources to field investigations related to:

·        Significant economic or community impact

·        Participation of organized criminal groups involving multiple districts or transnational organizations

·        Use of schemes involving new technology
