Event Summary: 

In the first portion of the session, you will be provided with insight into how to effectively implement the new International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) to ensure that internal audit provides the best possible service to your organization. The Standards are a mandatory component of The IIA's authoritative guidance within the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), which became effective in January 2009. In addition, Mr. Hersh will provide tips and suggestions on how to successfully and practically implement the Standards in the most efficient and effective way drawing on his vast experience in conducting quality assessment reviews and helping to establish and improve internal audit functions.

The session agenda will include:

  • Introduction
  • Why The Standards Matter
  • Understanding the New International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF)
  • What’s New For the IIA Standards In 2010
  • Tips for Successful Implementation
  • Common Observations of Quality Assessment Reviews

 The second portion of the session will address an innovative metrics framework is an essential strategy to measure and improve the effectiveness of your department, improve quality, and deliver on stakeholder expectations. The framework should include the appropriate mix of relevant internal and external assessments that fit the strategy and culture of your organization.  In addition, how audit report results are communicated and rated plays a key role in ensuring client buy-in and action. In this informative session, you will come away with strategies and practices to consider for measuring your audit function, improving quality, communicating results, and identifying and exceeding stakeholder expectations.   In addition, Mr. Hersh will share his experience in implementing innovative metrics in his department.

Advance registration is required.  Full payment of registration fee is required to attend. 

Payment must be received prior to the event date or on-site. 

Cancellation Policy:

The Chapter guarantees to each venue, the number of registered participants.

If you register for an event, the Chapter expects you to pay the registration fee, as the Chapter incurs a cost for every registered no-show.

Refunds will be granted to those giving at least seven days advance notice. Registrants are responsible for the full registration fee should they not cancel at least seven days in advance or not cancel at all.  Substitutions are welcomed.
