The importance of recognizing and working with coworker's communications and personalities.

In an interactive live group setting, you and your co-workers will enhance your knowledge about the impact of communication, ethics, and personalities on the efficiency and effectiveness of the audit department and have an opportunity to learn what other companies are doing in this area.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Hear about the waves of change that are affecting the Internal Audit profession.
  2. Review communication issues affecting auditors.
  3. Learn about how the theory of triple constraints can enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
  4. Take a fresh look at risk assessments.
  5. Better understand how management and co-worker personality traits can affect your ability to ride the waves of change by impacting your career, projects, and productivity.
  6. Apply new insights about the workplace environment to protect your organizations team values and willingness to take risks.

About the Speaker: 

Dennis Johnson, CIA, CPA, CISA

Bio (April 2009)

 

Dennis Johnson's experience prior to joining Nordstrom Bank's Internal Audit team includes IRS revenue agent, software quality assurance manager and accounting manager for an insurance fund. He holds the CPA, CISA, and CIA designations. Dennis has been a resident of Washington State, Utah, and Colorado and he enjoys martial arts training, skiing, surfing, and other outdoor activities. He currently holds an adjunct position at Arapahoe Community College teaching accounting and information technology subjects. Dennis spoke on fraud and ethics at the 2007 IIA Financial Services Conference, the 2007 Rocky Mountain Area Conference and at the 2008 IIA Financial Services Conference.
