Participants will learn how to identify non-financial risks related to environmental and social impacts, and discuss how to:

  • Gain insight into what risks of a non-financial nature are attracting management‘s attention (e.g. environmental, food safety, labor practices, etc.) and should be considered for inclusion in your annual risk assessment process.
  • Define the scope for auditing sustainability key performance indicators that are relevant to your organization.
  • Enhance your knowledge of the common standards and frameworks applicable to these areas.

 

Guest Speaker:  James Cascone, Principal, Deloitte & Touche, LLP

James is a principal at Deloitte & Touche LLP (“Deloitte”) with over 18 years of professional experience providing business advisory services. He is a core global team member of Deloitte’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice and is the national Sustainability Governance & Risk Intelligence services leader.  James provides consultative services that help companies improve their environmental, operational and social performance, and specializes in corporate governance, enterprise risk assessments, process improvement, and enhancing control environments.  James is a past president of the San Diego IIA Chapter and is currently the Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Committee of the IIA.
