SFIIA - May Seminar Announcement

Wednesday, May 30th

"Communicating Audit Results"

Presented by

Merek Lipson, Director Internal Audit Services—Kaiser Permanente

Successful internal auditors not only identify important findings, but also communicate them clearly and effectively. Unless you can deliver your findings and conclusions well, both orally and in writing, clients may ignore them.  The current business climate only intensifies the need for skillful audit communications. With regulators and investors now putting unprecedented emphasis on internal controls, organizations simply won’t tolerate substandard internal audit services, including poorly written audit reports.

This one-day seminar can help! The IIA San Francisco Chapter is offering an updated version of this popular program. Once again, seasoned professionals will teach it. They’ll help you polish your communications skills and be more effective with your clients

The instructors will describe best practices for audit communications and identify applicable professional standards. You’ll review fundamental techniques for writing unambiguous, persuasive audit documents. You’ll get practical advice on how to:

  • Decide what to include and exclude from your reports,
  • Write in an appropriate style,
  • Recognize writing pitfalls and avoid them,
  • Spot and correct your own errors, and
  • Write more efficiently.

You’ll have numerous practical exercises, putting new techniques to immediate use. You’ll also receive practical suggestions on lasting, long-term improvement in your communications skills.

This seminar fills up quickly, so sign up early!
