2008-2009 Co-Presidents’ Message
Dear Ocean State Chapter Members: As we begin a new rotational Chapter year, we want to thank the outgoing Co-Presidents Donna Dupuis and Philip Genereux, for their leadership and hard work during the past two years. We also want to thank the 2007-2008 Board of Governors and their respective companies for their dedicated commitment and support of the Ocean State Chapter. The Chapter’s success is primarily due to our volunteers and all of their contributions. A sincere expression of appreciation goes to:
As new incoming Co-Presidents, we are committed to leading the Chapter to a successful year. We will work closely with the new Board of Governors to meet the Chapter’s goals: (1) serve the membership and (2) promote the profession of internal audit. Below are two key focus areas for the 2008-2009 Chapter year: Program of Seminars Continue to offer a diverse and innovative program of seminars to begin in September 2008. Joint seminars will be scheduled with The IIA Boston Chapter and the ISACA RI Chapter. Stay tuned for additional Chapter offerings such as:
Academic Relations Promote the profession of internal audit to undergraduate and graduate students at state colleges and universities. This Chapter year we plan to visit Bryant University, Johnson & Wales, University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island College, Salve Regina, and Providence College. Students and professors will be awarded with Free memberships to The IIA Ocean State Chapter. Additionally, our program of seminars will be offered to active students for a discounted price.
