President's Message

Fellow Members:

The International Professional Practices Framework standards require Internal Auditors to have sufficient knowledge to evaluate the risk of fraud occurring and how the fraud risk is managed by organizations. If you pay attention to any regular news you already know that fraud occurs regularly in all types of organizations. So what can we do to minimize this risk? As Internal Auditors, how can we be more effective at fraud prevention, detection and resolution?

For answers to these questions and more, please join us for our February 14th breakfast meeting where Plante Moran will present on the topic of "Fraud." The presentation is designed to share actual case examples that will help participants learn about how real fraud occurred, was discovered and theories on how the fraud could have been prevented.

Also, our chapter is excited to announce the upcoming ACL™ beginner and intermediate training sessions being offered the week of April 16-20th. These sessions will be presented by ACL™ trainers and are being offered at a significant discount (Almost ½ the price of ACL™ direct training!). For more information, and to register for the event, please visit our website at www.theiia.org/Lansing.

As always, thanks for your continued support of the Lansing Chapter!
