Welcome to the Chattanooga Area Chapter web site. Under the leadership of our outgoing President Mike Driver and the rest of the officers, committee chairs, and members, our chapter achieved Gold status again in 2007-2008.  It is a testament to our members and past leadership that the chapter has achieved Gold status every year since its inception.  As a result, we were also awarded the Platinum Award (for chapters who have earned Gold status for 10 + years) for the 6^th time.  Thank you to everybody who has worked so hard to make this chapter stand out in such a distinguished manner. 

This year we are using the feedback from our members to provide quality training and CPE that meets the needs of our constituent companies.  Rest assured that the comments you have forwarded to us are used to provide the kind of training and skills that you need in your environment, and we appreciate and value your comments.  If you have other ideas to improve our chapter or are willing to help out in the coming year, please feel free to contact me or one of the other officers.

This year we will also be proactively reaching out to local companies in order to get their involvement in the chapter.  If you know of any local auditing or accounting firms who would benefit from membership, please let us know so we make sure we’ve included them in our efforts.  If any of our members would be interesting in helping to reach out to those companies, please let me know and we can talk about what level of involvement would work best for you.

Another initiative we are excited about is improving our interface with local colleges and universities.  In order to educate students about our profession, we are planning on assigning members as liaisons to those institutions.  If you would be interested in serving the chapter in that role please let us know.  Many of our current members benefited from connecting with the local Internal Auditing community before they graduated, and we hope to pass a little of that forward to other students.

I appreciate the opportunity to serve the members and companies represented by this chapter as your president.  You should know that the chapter’s leadership values your input, so if you have any suggestions for improving what we do or how we do it, please do not hesitate to contact us.  As Internal Auditors, we are all process improvement experts and I hope that you will feel open to share your constructive ideas.  I feel very fortunate to be affiliated with so many devoted officers of this chapter, and we all look forward to another successful year.
