Fellow SWFL IIA and guests,
It is my honor and pleasure to serve as president of the southwest Florida (SWFL) chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) for the 2011-2012 chapter year. I am especially excited to be serving this year as the IIA global organization celebrates its 70th anniversary from its founding in November of 1941. Of course our local chapter has had a great history and successful track record as well, having earned the Gold Chapter Achievement Award each of the past 22 years that the chapter has been in existence as well as the Platinum Chapter Achievement Award each of the past 10 years since its inception. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our previous as well as many of our current leaders for where we are currently positioned as a local chapter and as an international organization.
Although much has changed in the world and in the internal auditing profession over the years, one thing remains the same-our commitment to serving you, our current and potential future chapter members. Whether you have many or just a few years of audit experience or are just joining or contemplating coming into the internal auditing profession, please let me or any one of our officers or board members know what we can do to help provide you with the best insights, training, professional development, networking, or other internal auditing resources and opportunities that we possibly can. And please let us know if you are interested in joining and/or becoming more involved in our ongoing chapter development.
