Dear Members:

 I am excited to share with you some of the benefits of being a member of the IIA and provide insight into this year’s chapter events. As a member of the IIA you have access to a vast array of audit resources available through the international IIA website (www.theiia.org ). In addition, The North Arkansas Chapter is committed to offering quality onsite training, web based training, and other valuable information shared through the website (www.theiia.org/northarkansas ). We look forward to the opportunities that this year brings, and the new friends and professional contacts we will make through networking opportunities.

Your membership in the IIA provides you with access to national and local websites. Both websites provide a wealth of information. The national website, (www.theiia.org ), provides  a national job board,
access to IIA standards,  and open forums for sharing ideas, concepts, and asking questions.

The local chapter website can provide you with local training opportunities, local events, and job opportunities. If you have something you would like to advertise (e.g., job announcement), contact the website administrator listed on the front page of the chapter website (www.theiia.org/northarkansas ).

Our chapter goals this year include;

a commitment to build membership,
particularly our student members,
and provide relevant local training opportunities.

In 2011 the North Arkansas chapter held a two hour training on disaster recovery in Northwest Arkansas, and training on social media and electronic commerce. The board is looking forward to three more training opportunities this year along with at least one networking opportunity. These opportunities will be posted on the chapter website (www.theiia.org/northarkansa s), as well as the Chapter Newsletter “The Hot Spot!” as the details are confirmed.

I am very excited about the opportunities available to North Arkansas members this year. The success of our events are dependent on participation and support by our members, so I hope you will take time to participate as a volunteer and/or participant in the activities. I encourage you to share your ideas for training opportunities and events with our chapter sponsor. Please contact me anytime if you have questions, concerns or just want to discuss audit issues. I appreciate your support.

 Regards,
Rick Mascall,
President North Arkansas Chapter IIA
