Happy 2009!
Central Virginia Chapter President's Message
The IIA Central Virginia Chapter entered into an endowment agreement with the VCU School of Business Foundation, and presented a check for $20,000 from its Theron Bell Memorial Scholarship Fund to the Dean of the School of Business of Virginia Commonwealth University at a ceremony held at The Commonwealth Club on 9/30/2007. Result: This created a $1,000 scholarship in its first year, and more in future years. Below are several pictures from the presentation ceremony. Theron Bell was a long-time chapter member, and Past-President, who was killed following a chapter meeting, by someone who ran a red light while fleeing police. The original Theron Bell Fund was established by the chapter almost 25 years ago.
