Hello Everyone! I hope that you had a safe and enjoyable holiday. The San Diego Chapter Officers and Committee Chairs look forward to working with you in the New Year. With the holidays now past, many of us are busy with FY 2011 year-end activities and planning for the New Year. This is true for your chapter officers as well. Gareth Gruffydd, John Lefter and Aaron McGowan did a great job this past fall scheduling speakers and organizing our Fraud Seminar. I am excited about what they have lined up for us in 2012! For the chapter members that are certified, you may have been recently contacted regarding some changes to CPE reporting effective 1/1/12. Reporting will now be done annually and there are others changes. I urge you to review the reporting requirements so that your certification status remains active If you have not recently attended a Chapter event, I encourage you to visit us soon and become reacquainted with the fantastic network of audit professionals that are over five hundred strong in our Chapter. Given our range of detailed topics for the first half of our year, I’m even more excited about our topics for the next two luncheon meetings. For the month of February, we have a luncheon dedicated to the auditing of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). February’s meeting will be presented by Protiviti. Building off of the meeting in February, the meeting in March presents the topic of ERM from an internal application perspective in ERM Application – A Tale of Two Companies. Both presentations will address a subject that is at the forefront of our profession. I look forward to seeing you there. The luncheons will be held at the Handlery Hotel in Mission Valley. You can always check with the IIA San Diego events website at http://www.theiia.org/chapters/index.cfm?act=home.page&cid=52 for program and registration information. New for this fiscal year, the San Diego Chapter has created its own LinkedIn Group. Join up and stay updated on our Chapter. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
