PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

A Message from Shannon Fischer, IIA CNY 2011-2012 Chapter President

Welcome to the 2011-2012 chapter year!

First, I would like to thank the Officers, Board of Governors, and Committee members for all of their time and effort in helping to make our chapter a success. Their hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed as our Chapter achieved Platinum status for the 6^th year in a row under the Chapter Achievement Program.

For me, the key to a thriving chapter is the participation of the membership. Your attendance at a meeting or seminar helps to make our chapter a success. The volunteer efforts of members (as Speakers, Officers, and Board or Committee members) are also vital to a successful chapter. If you have interest in volunteering, please feel free contact me or any other Officer, Governor or Committee Chairperson.

Last year was the first year that our chapter implemented the new 2-hr meeting format and we are proud to say that it was very successful. We plan to continue with that same programming format, in addition to our two 8 hour seminars, and have been busy planning for the upcoming year. As details are finalized, they will be communicated at our chapter events and published on the website and in our monthly newsletter. On Wednesday 9/29, our District Representative Mary Peck will be visiting, and speaking to our group. This is our first event of the chapter year, and I hope to see many of you in attendance.
