Milwaukee IIA Academic Relations Committee

The Milwaukee IIA is currently developing partnerships with school administrators, educators and students.  Each partner plays a unique role in the sustainability of the school's program.  It is our hope to identify future potential leaders and provide them with the resources to succeed in a career of Internal Audit.  This year, the Academic Relations Committee (ARC) will host student related meetings and invites students, educators and administrators to learn about career opportunities and emerging issues in the profession.  The ARC strives to work with schools who:

Demonstrate the aspiration to become leaders in internal audit education.

  1. Identify a "champion" who will help drive and coordinate IIA programs on campus.
  2. Schools that are willing to provide support of IIA activities from the department and school officials.
  3. Partner with the Milwaukee IIA chapter to obtain the best results for the school’s internal audit program.

Possess the determination to develop and maintain a collegial relationship with the IIA.

This year we have many exciting activities planned, including school visits, a Big-Four panel discussion, and our annual IIA Scholarship Competition, awarding two $1,000 scholarships to two lucky students.  Finalists of the IIA Scholarship Competition will also have the chance to present their essay in front of many of Milwaukee’s Internal Audit Leaders!

What is the IIA Academic Relations Committee?

The objectives of the Milwaukee IIA Academic Relations Committee is to develop and support relationships through educational programs among practitioners, educators, students, educational institution administrators and business/government communities, which enhance knowledge, skills, understanding and use of internal auditing.

The ARC has three fundamental goals to achieve and sustain our objectives:

1.)  Continue to establish and maintain working relationships with colleges and universities in the Chapter’s service area, including a) encouraging membership in the IIA and attendance at IIA events by administrators, educators and students, and b) arranging for Chapter members to serve as guest lecturers or instructors at area colleges and universities;

2.)  Maintain and expand participation in the Chapter Scholarship Program, thus enhancing the objectives of the IIA; and

3.)  Host events that will highlight the benefits of internal auditing and internal auditing as a career choice.

If you would like to become involved with the ARC, please send an email to IIA_ARC@googlegroups.com and a committee member will contact you shortly.

Call for Speakers
