Dear Members,
It gives great pleasure to you to announce the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIA Lebanon and the Lebanese Association of Certified Public Accountants (LACPA).

The ceremony took place on Friday November 9, 2007, 4:00 p.m., at the Auditorium of the LACPA building, Mathaf (attached). This event is the fruit of the efforts of Mr. Hikmat Sleem-President of LACPA, Mr. Joseph Samaha -member of IIA Lebanon and LACPA, Mr. Naji Fayad-former President of IIA Lebanon, Mr. Ramzi Tarabishi-Governor-IIA Lebanon, Maitre Elya Habre-Attorney-IIA Lebanon, and me. We met several times over the summer, laid down the vision, founded the basis of cooperation, and drafted the MoU.

Both boards of IIA Lebanon and LACPA passed resolutions to sign the MoU.

On October 24^th 2007, LACPA President Hikmat Sleem and (former) IIA Lebanon President Naji Fayad exchanged “Letters of Expression” to sign the MoU.
On November 9^th 2007, LACPA President Hikmat Sleem and (current) IIA Lebanon President Elie Safar signed the MoU.

During the ceremony, we distributed the CIA, CCSA, and CFSA certificates to a dozen of colleagues.
