Are you interested in being part of a new Industry Specialist Group for Government Auditors?
 
The Bermuda Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors is seeking to assess the number of persons interested in the establishment of a group for Government Auditing. By Government Auditing we are referring to internal audit activities of all the Governments to whom the individual members belong.  As Bermuda attracts professional from all over the world, it is anticipated that this would be a dynamic and exciting group engaged in discussing how different countries deal with internal auditing.
 
Terms of Reference (This is to be further developed by the group members)

The group will meet to consider audit issues of mutual interest advanced by government auditors or service providers. To this end, it will bring individuals together to discuss common concerns. It is expected that the proceedings will be of benefit to governments, as well as other professional organizations and public interest groups.
 
Objectives of the Group (This is to be further developed by the group members)
 
a) The objective of the group is to provide a forum for members of the Institute and their guests to debate topics of interest in the field of Government internal auditing.
b) To provide a Forum where audit executives can identify, define, and solve common auditing problems.
c) To maintain and improve the competency of audit staffs through training and professional development.
d) To consider the acceptance, uniform interpretation, and implementation of generally accepted governmental auditing standards.
e) To encourage research of governmental audit problems, both within the Forum structure and, where appropriate, in collaboration with other professional organizations.
f) To increase the Forum's sphere of influence by communicating with other professional organizations and interested segments of the audit community.
