IIA Qatar Chapter expresses debt of gratitude to Charles Ries current Chapter Secretary who is leaving to Australia to continue his professional career and to be near his family. Charles looked after Chapter Website & Communication for last four years.

Charles is a qualified Public Accountant, has a Doctorate in Management and Certifications in Internal Audit and IT security. He is an authority on IT controls, IT Security and forensic auditing. With his experience spanning over 30 years across the globe, he was a resource person to provide needed guidance. The Chapter would miss his personality, his charisma and his technical expertise. Godfrey Ristow, Internal Audit Manager of QEWC was elected as the new Secretary. Godfrey a South African national brings with him rich experience in chapter administration.

The Board meeting laid down action agenda for 2008-9 for various committees. The IIA is the internal audit profession's global voice, standard-setter, and resource for professional development and certification. In order to bring better clarity and right strategic choices, a relook at the vision and mission statements of the Chapter was considered.

The Board also recognized Chris Adonis for his contribution as President for 2007-8
