Results of 2009 Manuscript Contest

The Central Illinois IIA Chapter is pleased to announce the following winners of our 2009 manuscript contest. This contest is part of the chapter’s ongoing effort to promote awareness of the internal audit profession on central Illinois college and university campuses.  We hope that our presentations on campus and the students’ participation in the contest have created an opportunity to learn a little more about the profession that we as practioners enjoy so much. 

And now the results:

Graduate Division

  • 1st place ($1,000) - Tyler E. Kutz from Eastern Illinois University for his paper titled "Impact of the Fair Value Method on Financial Reporting and Auditing"
  • 2nd place ($500) - Joseph A. Maculso from Bradley University for his paper titled "Cracking the Code - Financial Reporting with XBRL"
  • 3rd place ($250) - Martin D. Adams from Eastern Illinois University for his paper titled "Excessive Executive Compensation

Undergraduate Division

  • 1st place ($1,000) - Daniel Christensen from Bradley University for his paper titled "The Significance of Human Resources: An Internal Audit Approach". 
  • 2nd place ($500) - Megan J. Lee from Illinois Wesleyan University for her paper titled "Is Corporate Social Responsibility Important?"
  • 3rd place ($250) - Christina A. Selby from Western Illinois University for her paper titled "Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404:  Impact on the Auditor"
