1. Membership shall be opened to:
(a) Ordinary Members comprising IIA Affiliates which are members at the date of adoption of these Rules and those IIA Affiliates within the Asian
region which apply for membership and are admitted by the existing Ordinary Members. The IIA Affiliate applying for membership shall be
sponsored in writing by an Ordinary Member.
Ordinary Members are entitled to send one representative who shall have the right to speak and vote on issue at general meetings of ACIIA. Each
Ordinary Member may also designate one adviser to accompany its designated representative at all ACIIA meetings but such adviser shall have no
voice (except with the permission of the Chairman of the Meeting) and no right to vote.
(b) Associate Members comprising IIA Chapters or Institutes other than the above mentioned IIA Affiliates. Each Associate Member may designate
one representative and one adviser to attend ACIIA meetings but such representative and adviser shall have no voice (except with the permission
of the Chairman of the Meeting) and no right to vote.
2. Every application for membership shall be proposed and seconded by existing members and shall be forwarded to the Secretariat who shall at the first
convenient opportunity, submit it to the Executive Committee for vetting. The Executive Committee may recommend the application to the Ordinary
Members for approval. The Executive Committee may at their discretion through majority consensus reject any application without assigning any
3. Every application that has been approved as aforesaid shall be admitted as an Ordinary or Associate Member of ACIIA and shall be entitled to all the respective
privileges of membership.
4. Ordinary Members shall:
i) Work towards the achievements of the vision and aims of ACIIA as set out in Rule 3 of this Constitution.
ii) Support the work of ACIIA by making financial contributions as may be determined
iii) Abide by the provisions of this Constitution.
Associate Members shall:
i) Support the vision and aims of ACIIA as set out in Rule 3 of this Constitution.
ii) Make such financial contributions annually as may be determined
iii) Abide by the provisions of this Constitution
5. Entrance Fees, Subscriptions and Contributions
There shall be no entrance fee. However, special subscriptions or contributions for particular purposes may be raised from members by resolution of the general
meeting of ACIIA.
