Dear Members,
Welcome back! I hope that this summer brought you an opportunity to take some much needed holidays spending time with family and friends. It can’t believe we are already in the fall season and in the process of finalizing remaining projects and planning for the New Year. As they say “Time fly’s when you’re having fun” or at least I hope that is the case for you!
During our summer strategy session I challenged our board members to come up with a theme for the year. We wanted a theme that would express who we are as a board and also as a Chapter. We didn’t want anything complex or overly audit focused. We wanted our theme quite simply to emphasize, our People. We are all citizens of our wonderful Calgary chapter, and have an interest in its success and our profession. After much deliberation, we ended up with “Moving Forward Together”. We picked this theme because we felt that it captures the essence of who we are collectively. The Calgary Chapter is not just the just a collection Board members who organize events, and meet regularly to plan out the year. It is more... It is YOU, it is ME, it is US, and everyone who attends our events, supports our profession and contributes to its growth, and success. We needed to recognize that together we make our Chapter possible. So thank you! Throughout the year I will be encouraging you all to provide us input on topic’s you find meaningful, submit articles in our newsletter, and let us know how we can deliver the best value to you.
Finally in closing, I wanted to say that we have a fantastic year planned ahead. We will be continuing to deliver program topics which are current, learning events which are meaningful and host socials which allow you to connect with your colleagues! Please attend as many events’ as you can, and meet as many of your colleagues as possible and let’s get Moving Forward Together!

| About Chapter Achievement Points (CAP) |
| All IIA Chapters earn Chapter Achievement Points “CAP” designed to recognize all member and chapter activities that promote the strategic objectives of the IIA. There are three categories of the CAP points program: Service to Members, Service to the Profession and Chapter Administration. In order to maintain Platinum Chapter status, we must achieve 1,560 points annually – which the Calgary Chapter has achieved 8 years in a row!
How can YOU help? If any member of the IIA Calgary Chapter has promoted the profession in any way, i.e. speaking engagements, course instruction, webinars, etc. please notify our Chapter President via email ajankowski@deloitte.ca in order for the Calgary Chapter record the CAP points accordingly and to help us reach PLATINUM this year! (Please provide the number of CPE hours and number of members)
