January 2010 Welcome back from the holidays to the start of the second half of our chapter year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and is excited for our upcoming slate of events. Thanks to those who attended our annual holiday session at Lakefront Brewery as we heard Russ Klisch, Lakefront's President, explain his successes and challenges in starting and operating Lakefront Brewery. Also, for those who couldn't attend, we announced that we won our bid to host a Regional Conference in 2011! Mark your calendars for a 2.5 day conference right here in our home town on September 25 - 28, 2011. Thanks to our Committee Chairs - Heidi Humbert from We Energies and David Cook from Robert W. Baird - and the rest of the committee for all their hard work and efforts. If you are interested in sponsorships, volunteering, programs, etc., please contact me and I will put you in touch with the right team member. The second half of the chapter year will continue to bring topics that you suggested during our annual survey. Our February event will be a 2 CPE breakfast session highlighting a great, local success story from Rexnord on automating your internal audit organization and titled: Unleashing the Hidden Value of IA While Escaping the Nightmare of the Program Mechanics. Also, mark your calendars for February 26th as we are bringing Bill Jelen, Mr. Excel himself, back to provide us more Excel tips and tricks (including features in Excel 2007). Stay tuned to the "Events" section of our website and e-mail invitations in the near future.
