IIA Chicago-West Chapter 2010-11 Incoming President's Letter

Dear Colleagues,

The IIA Chicago-West Chapter Board welcomes you. The past year was a time of great growth and advancement for our chapter. Through the leadership of our past president and board we were able to conduct relevant seminars and training, assist members in meeting CPE goals and provide networking opportunities. As the new fiscal year begins, I am honored to be your selection for the new, incoming president. I am excited about the opportunity to build upon the momentum established by the 2009-2010 board and chapter members. Thanks to the guidance of our board and hard work of all chapter members, we once again achieved the GOLD Level in the chapter achievement program.

 Looking ahead into 2010-2011, our goal will be to continue to provide relevant educational seminars that promote awareness of the current best practices of our profession and opportunities to network with other business professionals.

 In order to ensure that our seminars are relevant and that they will meet the needs of our chapter community, we will once again issue a financial, IT and audit professional’s survey,  strengthen our relationships with Chief Audit Executives, seek to expand our academic relations program to include mentoring opportunities and co-sponsor events with the other chapters in our region.  We have developed plans and established committees, chaired by highly professional chapter members, to pursue these goals.

Performed Any Speaking Engagements Recently?

The Chapter Achievement Program (CAP) rewards chapters for the various functions they perform and the service they provide to members and non-members. In order to stay up to date, we need to know when our members participate in either of the following activities:

• Speaking on an internal audit topic at a meeting, seminar, or CPE class. Includes providing training in your company.
  
• Submitting an article to a trade publication such as The Internal Auditor, CAE Bulletin, IIA Educator, and other specialty.
